Q: When should we reserve a cake for our wedding day?

A: As soon as you have decided to have a Dolcezza Custom Cake for your wedding, you should book your date. We recommend ordering 6 months in advance, but will take orders until we are booked with 10 days notice. Always contact us to check availability. We do require a $100 deposit at the time of booking.

Q: What kind of deposit do you require?

A: We require a $100 deposit or 50% of the total amount of your cake (whichever is less) at the time of booking. We do not need the final details for the cake at that time. Details can be finalized 6-8 weeks before your event.

Q: How do you accept payment?

A: Payment can be made by cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard.

Q: When is the final payment for our wedding cake due?

A: We expect payment in full for your wedding cake 1 month before your wedding day. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: If you cancel your major cake order 90 days before your event date, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will retain $25 of the deposit. If you cancel your standard cake order 90 days before your event date, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will refund your entire deposit.

If you cancel your major cake order between 31-90 days before your event date, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will retain the entire $100 deposit. If you cancel your standard cake order between 31-90 days before your event, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will retain $20 of your deposit.

If you cancel your major cake order 30 days or less prior to your event date, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will retain the full amount of the order. If you cancel your standard Cake order 30 days or less prior to your event date, Dolcezza Custom Cakes will retain 50% of the total amount.

Q: What is a major cake order vs. a standard cake order?

A major cake order is any order over $100. A standard cake order is any order less than $100.

Q: Will you deliver our cake?

A: We can deliver and set up your cake at an agreed upon time and location. Delivery charges depend on location and setup detail. Please contact us for rates.

Q: What size cake should we order?

A: If you are serving your cake as the main dessert then count on a serving for everyone attending. If your venue is providing dessert or sweet table and you plan to serve your cake as a snack or part of a dessert table, count on about half your guest list. Contact us for more information on serving sizes.

Q: Is Dolcezza Custom Cakes nut/peanut free?

A: No. Most of our cakes do not have any nut products but we do have nuts and nut products on site. We cannot guarantee that any of our products have not come into contact with any allergens.

Q: How is pricing determined?

A: Pricing is based on the number of servings, design details and the time it will take to complete your cake. Our price list is designed to give you an idea of average cake costs from Dolcezza Custom Cakes.

Q: What flavours do we have to choose from?

A: A list of flavours can be found on our Flavours page. Each tier of a wedding cake consists of 3-4 layers of moist cake with 2-3 layers of the filling of your choice. The entire cake is then iced with a thin layer of light buttercream, then covered in a delicious fondant for a smooth satin look.

Q: Do you make cupcake wedding cakes?

A: Yes! Our cupcakes range from $2.50-$5.00. Any order of 40 or more cupcakes includes a 6" round topper cake for free.
